前提 A few years ago
David quit jogging two years ago.He doesn't jog any more.But he used to jog.
David两年前退出跑步.他再也没跑步.但是他过去曾经跑步.
He used to jog (= he jogged regularly in the past,but he doesn't jog now.)three miles a day.

第二.当我们说一些事情过去时真的,但是现在不在是真的的时候,使用used to（we use used to when something was true but is not true any more.）
eg.1.This building is now a furniture store.I used to be a movie theater.
这个建筑物现在是一个家具商场,它过去曾经是一个电影院.
2.I used to think Mark was friendly,but now I realize he is a very nice person.
我过去认为马克很不友好,但是现在我意识到他是一个好人.
第三.used to do something 是过去时态,没有现在时态.
比较：We used to live in a small town,but now we live in Chicago.

eg.I used to watch TV a lot when I was little.
(= I watched Tv regularly in the past,bu no longer do this.)

（=I was in the middle of watching TV）
