It is reported that the weighting of English in Beijing's College Entrance Examination will be reduced by a third to 100 points in which the listening test will take up 50%. The test will be conducted twice a year. Students can sit for it for several times and the best result is taken as the final score which will be valid for 3years.In my opinion It is a worthwhile reform since many students can benefit from it. As is a fact the subject of English has been such heavy pressure that many students even ignore their native language learning Therefore this change in testing can not only reduce the students’ burden but also correct their attitude towards language learning . With more freedom to arrange their own studies students will learn English better as well as other subjects.
