Chemistry is a decipline of science that is firmly based in experimentation; experiments are the soul and essence of chemistry itself. Reflecting upon the history of chemistry, one find that the major developements and astounding discoveries all have their roots in experiments. The basic feature of chemistry is experiments, especially that of junior high chemistry. Hands-on learning experiences are not only able to generate the students' interest in chemistry, but also able to help students achieve a better understanding of the materials learnt by reviewing and applying the information themselves. Students also acquire knowledge of a multitude of lab techniques and gain a honest attitude towards studying science. However, due to the lack of proper equipement in the rural areas and the restrictive nature of the national tests, in our country, teachers and students alike focus on only imparting and memorizing textbook knowledge. This is especially true in the rural areas, where the aim of experiments is simply to achieve and memorize the standard, predicted results as provided in the textbooks. Neither teachers nor students care for the actual process. The idea of chemistry experiments have become a model of "lecture the experiment, memorize the experiment". The students' knowledge of lab techniques exist only in the books and praises; true lab techniques were never attained. So how do we ensure students acquire the actual lab techniques? This essay will compare the solutions mentioned in the abstract and provide its unique solution to this problem
