At the first few minutes in the New Year, many text messages are sent to me by my friends. I just looked through the ordinary messages and put my cell phone away. Some minutes later, the icon on the screen of my cell phone shone again , silently and peacefully. It was from one of my best friends. She said that she was invited to strike the bell as an honored guest at the Great Bell Temple. And she would like to send the bell’s sound to me as her New Year gift. “It will bring you good luck and my best wishes to you. And I hope you will be happy in the New Year!” she added. I was impressed so deeply that I didn’t know what to reply at first. After a 2-minutes-thought, I said” Nothing can show my happiness now. Maybe only time can be the most telling witness of our friendship.”
This is the most special and unforgettable gift I’ve ever received. Although I can’t see it with my eyes , although I can’t hear it with my ears , and I even cannot own it for just a second , I felt it with my heart. And nothing replaced the happiness that it brought in the New Year’s Day. I deem that the gift might be given by Gods, and will never forget it because it means a lot to me.
