The chart describes data of average distance in travelled per person per year, by mode of travel in England in 1985 and 2000.
During 1985 to 2000, travelled by car was the most popular mode in England, which slightly increased from 3199 to 4806. The following type, local bus, roughly from 429 in 1985, dropped down to 274 in 2000. By contrast, travelled by train went up from 289 to 366, which ranked second in 2000. There are an increasing number of people chose long distance bus, the sum of which jumped from 54 to 124, almost as twice as in 1985. Travelled by walking and bicycle declined from 255 and 51 to 237 and 41, respectively. Apart from those social above, people chose other modes when they travelled in England from 1985 to 2000.
From the table, it is clear that more people had travelled in 2000 than that in 1985, which ascended from 4740 average distance in miles per person per year to 6475.
